Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between your institution (“School”, “you”, or “your”) and MySchoolOps (“we”, “our”, or “us”), governing your access to and use of the MySchoolOps school management platform, including all associated web applications, APIs, and services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By registering for an account, accepting an invitation link, or otherwise accessing the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a school or educational institution, you represent that you have the legal authority to bind that institution. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

MySchoolOps is a cloud-based school administration and management platform designed for primary and secondary schools in Nigeria. The Platform provides the following core capabilities:

  • Student records management and enrolment tracking
  • Class, subject, and timetable administration
  • Teacher assignment and performance management
  • Continuous assessment and examination score entry
  • Automated term report card generation and transcript export
  • Attendance monitoring for students and staff
  • Fee schedule management, payment tracking, and outstanding balance reporting
  • Communication tools for school administrators, teachers, and guardians

The Platform is offered on a software-as-a-service basis. We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time. Where a change materially reduces functionality you are actively using, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice.

3. Account Responsibilities

The school administrator who registers an account is the account owner and is solely responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining the accuracy and completeness of all data entered into the Platform, including student records, staff information, and fee schedules.
  • Ensuring that all staff members granted access to the Platform use it in accordance with these Terms and applicable Nigerian law.
  • Obtaining any necessary consents from students, guardians, and staff before inputting their personal data into the Platform.
  • Keeping login credentials confidential and immediately notifying us of any unauthorised access to the account.
  • Ensuring appropriate oversight of user roles assigned within the Platform to prevent unauthorised data access.

We act as a data processor on your institution’s behalf. Your institution remains the data controller for all student and staff personal data entered into the Platform.

4. Subscription and Billing

Access to the Platform is provided on a per-student, per-term subscription model. The applicable fee per active student per term is set out in your subscription agreement or the pricing page on our website at the time of enrolment. Fees are billed at the beginning of each academic term.

All fees are quoted and charged in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Payments are processed through our licensed payment partners. You authorise us to charge your nominated payment method for all subscription fees as they fall due.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and provide a 14-day grace period to resolve the issue. Access to the Platform may be suspended if outstanding fees are not settled within that period. We reserve the right to revise our pricing with 60 days’ notice before the start of a new billing cycle.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing term. We do not provide refunds for partial terms, except where required by Nigerian consumer protection law.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Platform in any of the following ways:

  • To enter false, misleading, or fraudulent student or institutional information.
  • To attempt to gain unauthorised access to another institution's data or any part of the Platform's backend systems.
  • To reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform.
  • To use automated scripts or bots to scrape data from the Platform.
  • To resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the Platform without our prior written consent.
  • To use the Platform in any way that violates Nigerian law, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015.
  • To upload malicious code, viruses, or any content that could harm the Platform or other users.

Violation of any of the above may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund and may expose you to civil or criminal liability.

6. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, code, branding, features, and documentation, is owned by MySchoolOps and protected under Nigerian and international intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

Your institution retains full ownership of all data you input into the Platform, including student records, assessment results, and fee data. We claim no ownership over your institutional data and will never use it for purposes beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform solely for the educational administration purposes of your institution, for the duration of your active subscription.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, MySchoolOps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any direct damages arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by your institution to MySchoolOps in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the uninterrupted availability of the Platform. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain a monthly uptime of 99.5% and will communicate planned maintenance windows in advance.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to mediation in Lagos, Nigeria, before either party may commence litigation.

You agree that the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute that proceeds to litigation.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. We will notify school administrators of material changes by email and via a notice in the Platform dashboard at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
